LOCK WASHERS AND TABWASHERS
Lock Washers are a very simple but effective and reliable method of fastening. An internal tab fits into the Keyway of a shaft and an outer tab is bent over into one of the slots located on the outside diameter of the Nut. Lock Washers are used with the KM, KML, 3074, 3015, 3072, 3016, HM, N and AN series of Lock Nuts.
Tab Washers take the form of plain washers with one or more tabs which can be bent to provide a mechanical lock between a nut or bolt and the component being clamped to. In some cases one or more of the tabs are pre bent, the remaining tab or tabs being bent into position after assembly.
Tabwashers come in various formats and can be used in a wide variety of applications. Properly used they provide positive locking.
